Grandparents +Grandchildren= LOVE

This Christmas holiday I had the pleasure to do a Grandparent + Grandchildren family photo shoot… how fun is that!  The family requested to shoot at Quarry Lake because they love the views from there! As a mother myself I must say that beside my husband I, no one on earth loves our children as much as their Grandparents, so with no question- this session was filled with a great amount of laughter!

A Copacabana Christmas in Canmore.

Friends of mine Wally and Leila Berg, owners of Berg Adventures~ not only guide in some of the most fascinating places on the planet such as Asia, Africa and the America’s, they also guide on several 8,000 meter peaks (some of the largest mountains in the world).  This Christmas they and their son were joined by Leila’s  inspirational 86 yr old father , her beautiful mother and her lovely brother who traveled to wintery Canmore all the way from Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro!  Amazing.  Because of her Dad’s age and heath we chose to do our session in a two part series: one part traditional family Christmas indoor portraits and in the near future we will go outside for some playful mountain life portraits:)

Berg’s thank-you so much for choosing me to do your family portraits… it was really fun and I can’t wait for our outdoor session!

Christmas Day 2011~ Canmore Pond

Christmas 2011 was a blast!  After a beautiful morning of my husband and I watching our children open Christmas presents, we met up with some wonderful friends at the Canmore pond for an incredible afternoon of ice skating! To-boot it was my husband’s first time on ice skates since he was 7 years old!  It is hard to imagine that he, Carlos Buhler, who put up one of the difficult routes ever climbed on Everest’s North Face , had never owned a pair of hockey skates.  Needless to say, now that he is a resident of Canada, Santa gave him his first pair this Christmas!!!

Julia and Julie… too cute!

Your family is just wonderful, I’m so glad we got to catch up on Christmas. We need to get a copy of the top photo to put in our home! Thanks for sharing, Crista-Lee.

An Autumn Engagement Session

In late September I had the pleasure to meet Greg and Loralie for their engagement portrait session, here in Canmore.  Not that this happens very often, but the mountains were completely covered in  low clouds.  We went for a coffee and discussed their up-coming wedding (hoping the clouds would lift) but they didn’t; so we took advantage of all of the fall colours and the photos turned out beautiful!  Just before our session completed the clouds began to break and hurray we were able to get a few mountainous photos too!  Thanks you guys for choosing to work with me:)
