A Juniper wedding

Venue The Juniper | Hair + Make-up Botega | Flowers Elements | Cake Cake Creations | Commissioner Rick Kunelius

Margarete and Will met over the modern day match maker site ‘e-Harmony’.  Well, after seeing how happily in love they are I am convinced that this tool is a valid way to find true love. They decided to have a Banff wedding at the amazing Juniper hotel at the base of Mnt Norquay.

I loved how Margaret had her wonderful mother and sister together as they were pampered by the talented girls from Botega Spa.  (I learned Botega can actually come to hotels and do in house hair and makeup)!

Ryan + Jina’s Beautiful New Year’s Elopement!

Photographer: Crista Lee Photography | Wedding Planner: Cherry Tree Occasions | Flowers: Willowhaven | Makeup: Stephanie Roy

Venue for getting ready: The Grand Rockies Resort | Featured Resort and Bridal Suite: The Rimrock Resort | Church: St Micheal’s

Being a part of Jina and Ryan’s Elopement in the Rockies was a pure delight.  They are so in love, so thankful for what each of them bring to their relationship, and they are so respectful of one another that Callandra (owner of Cherry Tree Occasions) and I found our-self’s crying throughout the entire ceremony!  I am really  so happy they asked me to be alongside them– thank you and I can not wait for you to see all the rest of your images:)

This was by far one of the most precious things I have come across being a wedding photographer… Ryan’s love for Jina was without a doubt but to organize the words he would use was another!   He wrote the key words he wanted to remember to say on the palm of his hand… so adorable!  He was a little embarrassed that I noticed:)

Gina and Ryan wanted to incorporate the famous “Three Sisters” mountain in at last one photo before we continued to Banff and the Rimrock Hotel.  I knew the perfect location and to our delight the sun leaked though the heavy clouds for a brief moment to give us heavenly photo’s… magical.

This is the view from the Rimrock’ Suite 700… I will do another post in the near future just on this room alone… it is seriously like a dream come true.  I can only imagine to wake up, open my curtains and see such a vast towering view!!!

Because of the chilly weather we decided to do a photo-session in the Rimrock- it was so much fun.  The Rimrock has these awesome doors and architecture, even panel lighting in some of the larger banquet rooms; so we took advantage of then as much as we could! The results were fun, fresh and very appropriate for a New Year’s Eve wedding:)

WOW! Words cannot express the joy and satisfaction Ryan and I feel with Crista Lee Photography. There’s always a bit of anxiety when one has to make important decisions with limited input, but that angst quickly disappeared once we met her. Neither of us is especially comfortable in front of a camera, but very early on in our session she was able to put us at ease, such that we truly forgot anyone else was around. Not only was Crista able to capture nature’s splendor, but she also possesses a special gift to convey the emotion of our special day so that we are able to share it with family and friends. We highly recommend Crista Lee to anyone who values creativity with a personal touch.
Thank you!!!

Grandparents +Grandchildren= LOVE

This Christmas holiday I had the pleasure to do a Grandparent + Grandchildren family photo shoot… how fun is that!  The family requested to shoot at Quarry Lake because they love the views from there! As a mother myself I must say that beside my husband I, no one on earth loves our children as much as their Grandparents, so with no question- this session was filled with a great amount of laughter!

A Copacabana Christmas in Canmore.

Friends of mine Wally and Leila Berg, owners of Berg Adventures~ not only guide in some of the most fascinating places on the planet such as Asia, Africa and the America’s, they also guide on several 8,000 meter peaks (some of the largest mountains in the world).  This Christmas they and their son were joined by Leila’s  inspirational 86 yr old father , her beautiful mother and her lovely brother who traveled to wintery Canmore all the way from Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro!  Amazing.  Because of her Dad’s age and heath we chose to do our session in a two part series: one part traditional family Christmas indoor portraits and in the near future we will go outside for some playful mountain life portraits:)

Berg’s thank-you so much for choosing me to do your family portraits… it was really fun and I can’t wait for our outdoor session!
